Foley Mountain Conservation Area

Foley Mountain Conversation Area is located high atop a granite ridge overlooking the Upper Rideau lake. It is owned and operated by the Rideau Valley Conversation Authority and consists of 800 acres of mixed forests, ponds and fields. Wild life consists of 70 to 100 White Tail Deer, Black and Red Squirrels, Snowshoe Hares, Cottontail Rabbits, Porcupines and Chipmunks. There are 38 species of trees, including lofty pines and impressive white oaks.

Additional Information

Enjoy the panoramic view from Spy Rock look-out high above Westport by way of a new easy access ramp. Walk, hike and snowshoe, the mountain offers five marked trails of varing length and difficulity including the 8 kilometer Rideau Trail. The area is open daily year around and a entry fee may be required. A Mobility Trail enables people of all abilities enjoy the conversation area, it is wheel-chair friendly , with a wide crushed-stone path and low-grades.
