Gananoque Provincial Wildlife Area

The Gananoque Provincial Wildlife Area is a system of trails that run west of the Gananoque River, immediately north of the 401 highway. Set on approximately 1000 acres, the Gananoque Provincial Wildlife Area is a mixture of forest, high rock ridges and fertile marshlands. Many inspiring lookouts will reward the hiker with great views over the marshes, beaver-ponds and river lowlands. The area offers about 20 kilometers of hiking trails, ranging from easy walks to strenuous all-day excursions that will challenge even the well conditioned. This site allows mixed use from hiking and ATV's to hunting. However, the hiking trails are separated from the mechaninzed vehicles. Also, please be aware that the trails are not adequately marked.
